Dr. Jennifer Willcox was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics. She received her doctorate from Southern College of Optometry and graduated magna cum laude. In optometry school, Dr. Willcox was invited to become a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honors society, and served on the council for the Student Society of the Tennessee Optometric Association. As a student, she received the William Feinbloom award for her clinical skills and was chosen to present research at the annual American Academy of Optometry meeting.
After graduation from optometry school, Dr. Willcox completed her residency in Ocular and Refractive Surgery at Toyos Clinic in Germantown, TN. While at Toyos Clinic, she was responsible for the co-management and counseling of patients undergoing cataract and LASIK surgery, as well as diagnosis and treatment of ocular pathology. Dr. Willcox has published research regarding novel methods of dry eye treatment in the Journal of Photobiomodulation, Photomedicine, and Laser Surgery. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry, and is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians.
In her free time, Dr. Willcox enjoys traveling, scuba diving, cheering on the Memphis Tigers, and spending time with her husband and son.
